Tree of Life
Hanging
in the lobby of many modern synagogues, you will find
a "Tree of Life" naming those honored or remembered,
usually accompanied with substantial donation ranging
from $118-2500. In
honor of Tu B'Shevat, and through the generous coordinated
efforts of Thomas Witz, owner of Coastal Evergreen
Nurseries, with Jay and Tofah Eileen Dravich, who
own The Garden, Chadeish Yameinu now also has a "Tree
of Life!" Only ours is a real living tree, planted
in a very special and serene place in The Garden,
where we celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat and a variety
of other spiritual events and where we are always
welcome to come for prayer, reflecting and restoration.
Our living "Tree of Life" is a 4-variety apple graft,
representing Four Worlds Judaism along with the wonderful
blend of diversity by which we are so blessed. Ours
is a young tree and, in time, it will grow to dance
in the sunlight and wave in the wind, while providing
shelter and comfort. We will witness the birthing
of blossoms and leaves during Springtime and their
shedding as the Fall unfolds. We will feast, with
honey, on its fruits during Rosh Hashanah: A living
tree, growing hand-in-hand with our chavura. In time
and in spirit, may it help bring us one step closer
to Eden.
As with all living spirits, our tree needs your support
and nurturing. For a small donation to the CY community
($18 or more), someone or some ideal you wish to honor
or remember will have a perpetual leaf on the Chadeish
Yameinu "Tree of Life." When the dedication ceremony!
takes p lace in the Spring, all who donate will be
invited to write their inscription on an individual
flat stone and place it at the base of our tree.
Please find it in your hearts to embrace this project
and help sustain Chadeish Yameinu. In doing so, you
honor someone special, you honor your chavura, you
honor the Shekinah and all of nature; and you truly
honor yourself.
Checks
may be mailed to Chadeish Yameinu at PO Box 3578,

Many
people donate 10% of their yearly income to organizations
that provide for their spiritual wellbeing. In this
spirit, some members of our community have offered to
donate part of their earnings from sales made to CY
members to benefit the CY community. Is there a way
for you, too, to donate a percentage of your income
to CY if that income is made from customers or clients
who are CY members?
CY
members who currently donate a percentage of sales made
to CY members include:
